Let's Celebrate 150 Years!
The City of Sanford's Sesquicentennial Committee invites the community to join in the 150th celebration at these official events:
Charter Day - February 6, 2024
Mayor Rebecca Wyhof Salmon will read the official proclamation declaring February 11, 2024 through February 11, 2025 as Sanford's Sesquicentennial Year.
Time: 5pm
Where: Council Chambers, Sanford Municipal Center, 225 E. Weatherspoon Street in Sanford

Celebrate the day Sanford's incorporation went into effect back in 1874 with cake and ice cream (while supplies last), exhibits, performances, games, and more. This event is free and open to all. There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Where: Lions Club Fairgrounds, 505 N. Seventh Street in Sanford
Living History - Fall 2024
Become part of Sanford's history by participating in a "history harvest" and adding a keepsake letter to a time capsule to be opened at Sanford's bicentennial in 2074. More information to come.
